O meu nome é Fausto Bernardo Lejeunne de Figueiredo, tenho 69 anos e vivo em Sintra.
Uma das minhas paixões são os carros e foi por aí que comecei o meu espírito de coleccionador e a juntar algumas miniaturas por volta dos 10 anos de idade.
Depois vieram os fósforos e com 15/16 anos já tinha uma mala grande cheia de fósforos e talvez uns 50 carrinhos, que não deixava ninguém mexer e era sempre eu que mostrava a quem quisesse ver.
Aos 17 anos ingressei numa escola hoteleira, profissão que segui durante 45 anos em diversos países e comecei a juntar fósforos sobre hotéis, restaurante e similares.
Tenho cerca de 26.000 caixas e carteiras. Tento que sejam novas e com fósforos (cerca de 95% da colecção) o que se torna mais difícil de obter.
Os temas são:
• hóteis, motéis, pousadas, albergarias, etc. (unidades de alojamento)
• restaurantes, bares, snacks, cafés, pastelarias (unidades de restauração)
• casinos, clubes, centros comerciais (onde se sirvam refeições)
• diversos como boîtes, night-clubs e aeroportos
• O essencial é que tenham a palavra restaurante, bar, hotel, café, etc., escrito em qualquer lado.
Estão catalogadas por cadeias hoteleiras (Sheraton, Hilton, Novotel, Ramada, Holiday-inn, Hyatt, Sofitel, Mercure, etc.) e depois por países. Tenho fósforos de 122 países diferentes.
O meu sonho é o de abrir, com vários coleccionadores, um museu do fósforo para que este pequeno património não se perca, pois actualmente não vejo muito interesse por parte dos jovens pelas colecções, sejam sobre que tema forem.

My name is Fausto Bernardo Lejeunne de Figueiredo, I’m 69 years old, and I live in Sintra.
One of my passions is cars, and that’s how I developed my collector’s spirit and started collecting some die-cast models around the age of 10.
Then came the matchboxes, and by the time I was 15 or 16, I already had a large suitcase full of matchboxes and maybe 50 die-cast cars, which I wouldn’t let anyone touch—I was always the one showing them to anyone who wanted to see.

· casinos, clubs, shopping centers (where meals are served)
· miscellaneous such as nightclubs and airports
· The key is that they have the word restaurant, bar, hotel, café, etc., written somewhere on them.
They are cataloged by hotel chains (Sheraton, Hilton, Novotel, Ramada, Holiday Inn, Hyatt, Sofitel, Mercure, etc.) and then by country. I have matches from 122 different countries.
My dream is to open, together with several collectors, a match museum so that this small part of our heritage is not lost, as I currently don’t see much interest among young people in collecting, regardless of the subject.
