My name is Haluk Sağlamtimur. I am a Professor at the Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Arts, Ege University in İzmir - Türkiye. I have been collecting matchboxes for around 50 years. My collection comprises around 27,000 matchboxes from Turkey and other countries. I began this collection when I was 5 or 6 years old. Although I have collected many objects, I am primarily a matchbox collector. The theme I have chosen for this year is matchboxes featuring health-related information. My matchbox collection has been the subject of a PhD thesis at a university in Turkey. I also write articles about my collection. Thank you for inviting me to this exhibition for the second time.
